Pronouns: she/her/hers

As a psychologist, I see it as my role to walk alongside those who entrust me to do so, providing support and encouragement, perspective, and guidance and navigation, when needed. Life’s path takes many twists, turns, and detours and often leads us in wildly different directions than we plan. But I believe that meaning and purpose can be found in the loss, pain, and trauma we encounter along the way. I am honored when the people I work with allow me to help them discover this, as well as the humor and joy that is present in so many places.

Please explore this website to learn more about my approach to the various services I offer: individual teletherapy, clinical supervision for early-career mental health professionals, and organizational consulting.

“Be patient when becoming someone you haven’t been before.”

About Me

I am originally from the Detroit Metro area of Michigan and have lived in several other states over the years: New York, Indiana, and Nebraska. I now live in the Winston-Salem area of North Carolina with my partner and our sweet little boy. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, working on DIY projects around the house, and getting crafty. I also love to laugh and find humor to be a very healing state.

Education:

  • Ph.D., Counseling Psychology, Indiana State University
  • Doctoral Internship: University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Nebraska Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology
  • M.A., College Counseling, Western Michigan University
  • B.A., Advertising & Psychology, Michigan State University

Credentials:

  • Licensed Psychologist (HSP-P), State of North Carolina
  • Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT), PSYPACT Commission {What is this?}

Experience:

I spent a total of more than 15 years working in college and university counseling, helping young adults, as well as non-traditional, graduate, and professional school students, establish their identities, find their passions in life, navigate difficult experiences, and develop healthy relationships. I still love working with this population in addition to adults of all ages.

In my most recent role at the Wake Forest University Counseling Center, I developed the psychology internship program and led the effort to obtain APA-accreditation in the shortest possible timeframe. I have provided clinical supervision and training to master’s and doctoral trainees and early-career colleagues in the mental health field for 9 years. I have also held leadership roles in my employment, as well as in state organizations, including as the founding president of the Indiana College Counseling Association. I greatly enjoy supervising and mentoring students into the profession and colleagues along their career paths and into leadership roles.
